Inspection Update

Well, we pulled it off! The insulation and the electric have been approved. We have the go ahead to call the electric company and start sheetrocking. Yippy!!!!

Here are a few shots from our handiwork the last couple of days...

This is a view of the soffit that Steven and I put up last weekend and started staining on Saturday. That was a fiasco. The stain is too transparent, it was super watery and went everywhere. It didn't help that we were using a garden sprayer to apply it. Now we know to adjust the nozzel. We will be getting a solid stain to redo what has been done and complete the job - probably not until we have a lift. The ladder is way too scary!

Here's Steven finishing up the service entrance. He looks like he's ready to bite off his lip. Those wires are seriously huge!

Here I am sewing the insulation cover back in place after fishing the wires out to where they need to go. I spent forever measuring the height of each outlet and where the wires needed to come out for those that didn't have boxes. I even put notes on the studs and in three window bays asking them not to insulate. Well, there were wires buried everywhere. Evidently the two guys that were insulating our house don't speak or read a lick of English. Go figure!

Tonight we finish up pulling speaker and network wire and maybe we can be done with wiring for a couple of weeks. After sheetrock we'll have to be putting outlets and switches in the boxes. That will be interesting!
