I can't believe that it's been over a month since my last posting. Although nothing has changed on the camera front (my computer is still out of commission), I can give you an update...
We have countertops coming on Monday. I saw the raw materials all cut and layed out in the cabinet maker's shop yesterday. Way cool! We have our sinks as well, so they can get installed right away. All the appliances are here as well, so the cooktop can go in after Tuesday.
The cabinet makers are coming back on Tuesday to fix the cabinet over our cooktop. Steven went to install the exhaust fan over the cooktop and realized that the upper cabinet sits too far down. He'd have the cooktop in his Adam's Apple if it didn't get changed. Hopefully, they will also finish installing one of the sections of cabinetry in the bathroom and the rest of the handles.
Next comes decking. Steven's sister and brother-in-law will be finishing up all things outside. They have a lul in their schedule and we have to speed things up here.
We have some of the tile installed and are waiting for quotes back on kerlite and glass in order to finish the bathrooms. I hope we can get the mud pan finished next weekend. It is my hope to get both bathrooms tiled this weekend and do all the grouting. Probably unrealistic!
Next weekend Steven is picking up some of our doors and they will go to the finishing shop along with our trim for varnish. The cabinet maker is doing our window and door casings right after the countertops.
We have until the first of February to finish. We thought we had until the 25th. That was a shock! Steven's been a bit frantic since he learned that we had 3 less weeks to finish. It's daunting, but I'm glad it will be over soon. I'm looking forward to coming home to my cool kitchen and a place to create stuff. I want to paint and sew again!
Well, I must get the kitchen bathroom tile layed out. We've got tons to do tonight. I've already painted the tall dark section of the front siding - got off work early. It's been awhile since we have had a couple of days with no rain. Painting this time of year can be tricky. We got a modified paint, with shellac to help facilitate speedier drying times. I hope it dries. It was still looking a bit shiny when I came in at 4:00. Taa Taa for now...
