Things have slowed a bit. I got a call from the engineer at Puget Sound Electric on Wednesday, the day the power was supposed to be connected. He said that he couldn't get us hooked up because there were no wires in our temporary power box. Well, we set it up how the powers that be told us to set it up. It was inspected, given a gold star and there it sat for almost a week. Five crazy days went by that we could have put wires in it had we known. Now... We have been forced to reschedule the plumbers and the mechanical contractor. Fortunately, we didn't loose que - whatever that means in PSE lingo. The engineer was so kind to tell me that he would get out as soon as we called to get back in the que - that word again! The kind PSE rep that I spoke with on Wednesday afternoon offered to email the engineer so that he would know that we were in the que. The engineer will be there by Wednesday. He promised he would do it ASAP, but he had to do a job in Oak Harbor Thursday and Friday, thus necessitating the reschedule of plumbers and mechanicals. So, Wednesday is the new date to meet.
Enough about those woes. The roof is semi dried in. We didn't have the ice and water shield, so the roofing contractor didn't complete the dry-in. They kindly put a temporary cover on the flat garage roof. It leaks a fair amount, but that isn't the most important part of the house to keep dry right now. The plumbers don't want water dripping in the plumber's cracks. Hee hee hee!
So, we have a list of things to do this weekend that we'll be hard pressed to complete. It's raining and in the 30's. Yesterday, it snowed here. We came here to get away from that crap and now we're seeing it in the middle of April. You'd think we were back in the North Country of NH. Oh well. Next week it's supposed to be in the 70's. Not unlike NH!
More to follow... Maybe more pics later if it dries out a bit. Enjoy your weekend!
