Yes, We Have Siding...

Well, yesterday was the start of "vacation." We got a fair amount done on the siding from 3:30 til 8:30 when we quit for the day. Our sheetrocker got a fair amount done with the painting as well, but it doesn't look as good as we had hoped. Now, we have to get more paint. At $46 per gallon, our free ceiling application wasn't quite free...

Today we finished all but 6 boards on the very front of the house. Here's a look at the progress - we weren't able to get a picture of the last board installed, since it was too dark:

Here's a look at the hardipanel siding that Josh put up:

We'll start putting the textured paint on it next week.

It's very exciting to finally see it looking like the computer models. We sat outside the house for a good half hour just contemplating the siding colors - where the redwood stain will stop and where the ashen stain will start. Designing this has been fun, but it will sure be nice to sit there with it all done. I can almost feel it now. Just a few short months...

Your siding looks so good! I think it would've worked great on its own. Then again, painting over it would help protect it from the elements. What color did you paint the siding?

We don't remember. It was a Pittsburgh Paint.
