Sunday - A Day of Rest

Yesterday we worked out in the cold. Well, Steven worked and I more or less stood around for moral support. We had to get the footing ready for the front porch. The roof trusses will be coming in on Friday. Whoo hoo! It's really starting to look like a house.

Our wonderful new neighbor, Louise, brought us over a pint of sweet tea to warm us up. We sat in the living room and had a cup (see the chairs). It was fun to sit there and imagine looking out the windows, seeing the fireplace, deciding whether the window seats will be fixed or moveable, and determining where the vcr and stereo will live. So many decisions!

Speaking of decisions, we finally decided on the exterior house colors. We were back and forth on the roof color, which impacted the wall colors. Now, Steven wants to know what color the foyer will be. I told him maybe white until we get our stuff in there. He said, "Oh no. We have to have color." I told him to wait until the walls are up before we go there.

Here's a shot of the front of the house. The garage will be attached, to the left.

Tomorrow, Marsha and Rod start framing the mid section of the house. The walls there are 9' - the rest of the house are 8'.
