Some Pictures of our Little Town

Here are a few shots from downtown. As you can see, there is a bit of spanish influence to the architecture, mixed in with the typical seaside architecture. Evidently, spanish explorers landed here early on and left their mark. Our lighthouse in Coupeville is decidedly spanish, as is the one in Mukilteo.
We have very mild winters here, so we are gifted with a marvelous array of flowers that start gracing us with their presence in mid to late January. There are primroses in bloom now. I think we might be without blooms for only a few short weeks. We are so very lucky!
You should see the rhododendrons in the spring. Meerkerk Gardens is the place to go here in the spring. Also notable are the Japanese gardens in Seattle, as well as the Arboretum. You won't be disappointed.
