Meet Al - He's one of the goldfish my husband and I inherited from our oldest daughter, Shan. He is a fish with attitude. We have to wait for him to flick his tail at the top of the tank before we drop in the food, or the furniture, the floor and the hand that feeds are soaked! We are enjoying him and his companion, Trudy.
Shan and Lo each bought twelve fish the year before last. Shan was living with her boyfriend at the time and didn't ask him what he thought about having twelve goldfish. So, to make a long story short, they came home. Who would have thought that we'd end up with our grown daughter's pets?

Both Al and Trudy are all that remain of 24 fish. They died one by one, a day at a time. Lo had one fish left for a few weeks, but it started to turn black and get pretty lethargic. Then... You guessed it. Water funeral time!
Well, here they are - our pets! We don't have a dog, we don't have a cat. We have Al and Trudy!
